I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Will my blood pressure drug make me feel funny or sick? Will I have side effects?

Not usually. If you do feel ill or feel some uncomfortable effect from your medication, contact your doctor or nurse.

Drugs are taken to have a specific effect on a particular pathway, function, organ,
or phenomenon within the body. However, after a drug is taken, it is distributed throughout the body and most will cause additional, and unwanted, effects on other parts of the body. These additional effects are known as side effects and can vary widely from drug to drug. They can either be general unpleasant effects like headaches, stomach aches, or dizziness, but can also be abnormalities of chemicals in the blood that will only be detected by your doctor using laboratory tests. If you do experience any kind of side-effect that you think may be linked to your medication, it is important to inform your doctor as soon as possible so that your doctor can assess this and make any necessary changes.
